Our client is seeking to recruit for a Windows Systems Engineer for a fixed period of 5 years with the possibility of prolongation.

The successful candidate will participate the evolution, design, implementation, management, support and maintenance of the client's Windows based infrastructure (including messaging and collaboration systems: Exchange 2010, Lync, SharePoint 2010 etc.) where they will take responsibility for desktop management (MDT, ImageX, Altiris) and for managing contracts and external consultants related to desktop management when required and in agreement with the Head of Unit. They will report to the Head of Unit UC&OA and will work in close collaboration with their colleagues in UC&OA as well as with colleagues in other units in the Technical Support and Architecture Division, and other IT Divisions. They will keep in contact with relevant suppliers and vendors related to his/her area of responsibility.

Qualifications

  • University degree preferably in Information Technology or a related discipline
  • At least three years professional experience in Windows Systems Administration and IT Systems Management in general
  • Experience in designing, implementing, administering and troubleshooting technology solutions related to Desktop management (Altiris, MDT, ImageX or a comparable application) and Server management (Windows 2008 R2, Active Directory, Symantec Storage Foundation, Powershell etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows system administration is required both at the server and the client level
  • Relevant knowledge of Desktop management, collaboration and communication software packages (Exchange, Sharepoint, Lync), including design, implementation, configuration, administration and support is required
  • Good Knowledge of monitoring, reporting and system management tools (SCOM)
  • Additional experience in administering virtual environments (VMWare), UNIX, Linux or storage systems would be considered an advantage
  • Relevant professional certifications are considered an advantage
  • Good knowledge of infrastructure services such as DHCP, DNS and LDAP
  • Substantial understanding of IT Security practices
  • Good understanding of networking is considered an advantage
  • Project Management skills
  • Excellent knowledge of English or French and a good knowledge of the other (knowledge of any other European language would be an advantage)
