Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (Design and Calculations)
Rate: £20 - £30 p/h Negotiable

One of the UK's leading manufacturers of Storage & Materials Handling Solutions requires a Mechanical Engineer to assist with the execution of a high value project, with initial contract duration scheduled for 6 months.
Working alongside the existing Engineering department, you'll be required to assist in the design and manufacture of various storage products, including silos, vessels and tanks. You will also be responsible for the design and stress calculations, ensuring they are completed to the appropriate standards.
From a design perspective, you should be able to demonstrate a strong mechanical background and a high level of proficiency using AutoCAD. Ideally you should also have had at least some exposure to Autodesk Inventor as there will be some design elements to complete using 3D Modelling, however this is not essential.
The calculations you produce will have to be completed to the relevant European standards, so knowledge of European Codes BS 5500, EN 13445 or ASME VIII is highly desirable, as is any previous experience working with pressure vessels or advanced storage solutions. The majority of the codes are currently stored in MathCAD, therefore previous experience with this package is also desirable.
