Description
You'll help establish a centre of excellence for UX research and design within the Company Innovation Lab.
The work will be varied and challenging. You will conduct user research and UX design on projects across web, mobile and tablet platforms. You will also help establish and communicate standards for UX practice within company, assisting application teams with understanding and implementing these UX standards in their own project work.
We're looking for someone who can confidently claim the following skills and experience:
Experienced: You have at least five years experience in a UX role. You either have a degree in UX design or a related discipline, or a long track record of UX design practice.
Leader: You have strong people and project management skills, and are comfortable working either as a project leader or as a contributor one a larger team.
Communicator: You use data and design to make the complex ideas and situations clear and understandable. You present well, write well and make great infographics and diagrams that aid understanding.
Facilitator: You can plan and conduct meetings and workshops that help teams build a shared understanding of a problem and work collaboratively to define a solution.
Organised: You are comfortable organising your time among multiple projects and can stay focused on getting the right things done at the right time.
Technology savvy: You know enough about the capabilities and limitations of web and mobile technologies to collaborate with technology professionals on product design.
We'd consider it a real bonus if you also had some capabilities in one or both of these skills:
Prototyper: You can make working prototypes of your designs, using common prototyping tools like Flash or in code.
Visual design: You can move beyond wireframes and produce passable work in Photoshop, Illustrator and other design tools.
We put a lot of stock in hard evidence of good UX work, so an application with a link to a portfolio of your work, a link to your UX blog, your published articles, a list of conferences and events you've spoken at or a solid history of contribution on UX Stack Exchange would carry a lot of weight with us.
