Title: Citrix Applications Engineer
Job Description:
The Citrix Applications Engineer will be the overall technical Lead for all web based application access for local and external customers. This candidate must be familiar with access technologies include Citrix Presentation Server 4/XenApp Server from both an engineering and administrative perspective. Must participate in the development and enforcement of IT Standards, Policies and Procedures, develop and update technical documentation.
Requirements:
-Advanced technical knowledge and experience with Citrix Presentation/XenApp Server from both the engineering and administration side.
-Knowledge and experience in XenServer, Citrix Access Gateway, EdgeSight reporting, web interface, Secure Ticketing Authority (STA), XML broker, data collector, data store, and presentation Servers in a large-scale enterprise environment.
-Broad-based Citrix farm implementations including PS 4, and Presentation Server/XenApp 4.5-5.1 and significant experience with Citrix Farm migrations.
-Experience with build-out and provisioning of Servers in a XenServer environment: including XenMotion, and application/Desktop streaming.
-Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory administration, specifically supporting the technologies and how they relate to a Citrix infrastructure and have a strong understanding of GPO's and Scripting using various Scripting tools.
-Excellent level of server and application troubleshooting with a strong background in customer service.
-Must also have experience with Citrix patching and roll-ups. -Strong Experience with Application, Customization and Packaging Citrix applications, Terminal Services,
-Monitoring and Performance metering (Server and Farm scaling) on a Microsoft Server 2003 and 2008 platform.
-Apply solid problem-solving techniques consistent with an advanced knowledge of technical and operational issues involving Citrix PS4 and older versions.
-Produce technical documentation and seek and incorporate feedback where appropriate.
-Provide clear, concise, and customized documentation that is appropriate for both technical and non-technical audiences.
-Architect, design and implement integrated network solutions including centralized computing architectures.
-Provide technical support, troubleshooting and complex problem resolution on escalated issues while monitoring and maintaining application environment stability. -Extensive knowledge of directory and identity management theory and its practical application in a Windows Server and Exchange infrastructure
-Advance knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy and Citrix policies
-Proven writing/communication skills
-Proven organizational skills
-Remedy Ticketing System
-Extensive troubleshooting experience
-Must be comfortable working with many different groups, inside and outside of IS, to help solve business problems
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
-Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
-Direct and recent experience in implementing Citrix and Microsoft Infrastructure projects in a broad range of midsize and enterprise network environments
-3 years experience in Installing, Upgrading, Troubleshooting, Maintaining and Publishing Applications on Citrix Servers.
-2 years demonstrated experience working with and supporting Citrix Servers and server farms, including Metaframe and MetaframeXPe
-2 years experience with Citrix Web Interface, Citrix Secure Gateway and Secure Ticketing Authority.
-Experience with Citrix Nfuse and Secure Gateway helpful but not required
-Extensive background in Windows , Active Directory with experience in the design, deployment and support in large and complex production environments.
-Majority of experience should be in supporting mid to large scale environments compromised of 4000 seats or more.
