Description
Microsoft Systems Engineer serves as the main designer & executor for small to mid-scale
Job Responsibilities:
- Creation & delivery of Microsoft-based security devices/appliances, Servers, workstations, security methodologies, networking protocols, network resource sharing, network access methods, & the support, installation & configuration of LAN-based applications within a hosted or cloud computing atmosphere.
- Provide assistance to several business & technology teams as necessary during design, development & delivery to guarantee robust, strong & scalable solutions.
- Be able to distinctly convey complex technical designs & solutions in clear, succinct & easily readable layout by both technical & non-technical personnel.
- Correctly oversee, determine, assign & monitor project task, activity, documentation, & time information.
- Precisely evaluate the risks related to each solution design/project.
- Assist the development of team members from a professional & technical level
- Be able to travel as necessary.
- Conduct additional job-related duties as necessary.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Comprehensive functional understanding of server-based systems (ie virtualization technology/strategies, hardware, operating system, software, etc.) & networking devices (ie load balancers, Switches, Routers, Firewalls, etc.) design & delivery processes, methodologies & their direct execution to solid, robust solutions.
- Solid debugging & testing skills, systems & networking skills, troubleshooting skills & experience with Microsoft-based environments and architectures, operating systems, services, applications & databases.
- Excellent design & execution experience with network technologies, specifically Microsoft Windows server operating systems & applications, also Linux server operating systems is preferred.
- Familiarity in creating & implementing a server/network execution plan that includes alerting, monitoring & response features.
- Proficiency in Internet-based technology, services & strategies (ie DNS, web Servers, IIS, Firewalls).
- Solid decision making & problem solving skills & experience with systems/network projects.
- Skill working in a fast-paced, team-oriented atmosphere.
- Superb ability to comprehend & exhibit complex topics.
- Proven leadership & attention to detail skills through former experience at the tactical/implementation levels.
- Ability to coach, teach & train personnel (ie software developers) within a technical organization.
