Duties and Responsibilities
- Team lead/Escalation point for the EBR Team
- Work with management to obtain and sustain SLA and Key KPI levels
- Communicate with various IBM and customer Operational/Technical/Internal Helpdesk/support teams and management
- Perform Team Leader specific daily/weekly and Monthly checks and tasks as per the checklists
- Navigate and utilise network and Workstation utilities
- Ensure documentation is maintained.
- Oversee the correct execution of change management activities
- AH/On call support for the Team and Management
- Lead SME for problematic backups failures
- Lead SME for EBR Team
Desired Experience
- Senior Role in enterprise backup support activities.
- 3rd Level Knowledge with one or more flavours of Unix System (Sun Solaris, HPUX, AIX, Linux etc)
- 3rd Level knowledge on Intel System Operation
- Med to High computer literacy including exposure to Office tools
- Experience in a process driven environment
- Customer focused
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of Enterprise Backup applications (Veritas Netbackup) 5.1 and 6.5
- Knowledge of Enterprise Tape Libraries and associated technologies (L5510, DS8500, IBM 3584)
- Conceptual understanding of Enterprise Backup environments - Basic Knowledge of Unix, (Sun Solaris, HPUX, AIX, Linux etc) & Intel Operating System
- Understanding of Automation tools
- Understanding of Problem Management Reporting tools
- Knowledge of Veritas Backup Reporter - preferred
Non-Technical Skills
- Must have excellent team working skills
- Demonstrated positive attitude ( Can do mentality)
- Ability to quickly assimilate technical and non-technical information
- Problem solve troubleshooting
- Ability to quickly liaise with relevant Support Teams
