Description
Release Manager required for a 12 month contract based in Dublin, Ireland working for a major IT services company.
As the Release Manager you will be required to:
* Manage overall expectations pertaining to setting accurate schedules and resources.
* Ensure delivery against overall Release Management schedule.
* Provide necessary definition, development and deployment of Release Management strategy, addressing all phases of product development.
* Establish and maintain policy for Release Management documentation.
* Implements ongoing Release Management processes working with interdepartmental teams.
* Maintains product consistency throughout product cycle, to include the design, define and build phases through Release Management milestones.
* Develop and manage Release Management metrics for performance improvement of all teams.
* Anticipates program release problems and takes corrective action, escalating as needed, to resolve and achieve commitments.
* Provides effective communication regarding issues, objectives, initiatives and performance to plan.
* Manages the planning and execution of Release, Environment and Test Management efforts, including all associated resources to meet committed delivery dates.
The Release Manager will initially work with the application support, quality control, project, O&M business, and O&M IT teams to:
* Ensure that the product or service that release management provides is fit for purpose and meets both external and internal requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations.
* Monitor and advise on the performance of the release management system and produces data and report on performance, measuring against set indicators.
* Liaise with other managers and staff throughout the organisation to ensure that the Release Management framework is functioning properly.
* Advises on changes and their implementation and provides training, tools and techniques to enable others to become effective Release Coordinators.
* Works with QA Manager to set Strategic direction for Release Management and is responsible for tactical implementation of the strategy.
