ColdFusion Developer (Contract)
CONTRACT POSITION PURPOSE
Company seeks expert ColdFusion developer to fill vacant position to help translate applications written in CF to .Net. During migration, CF developer will need to assist in maintenance of current application and even some new functionality where necessary in a fast-paced, high intensity environment. Ideal candidate has .NET knowledge as well as migration experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develops and maintains an understanding of the business processes which drive the Internet and Intranet development.
- Maintain web content and database. Recommends web site features and enhancements.
- Monitoring web site performance and function. This person is the first line of defense, explicitly charged with maintaining company website availability. Maintains and modifies existing programs from specifications or change requests.
- May develop functional and programming specifications based on user requests.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
- Participate in all other systems development and maintenance as required.
- Debugs and tests all work.
- Seeks out and solves technical problems discovered during monitoring and as assigned. Includes researching manuals, Internet resources, forums, and vendor resources, persisting until an acceptable solution is found.
- Prepares documentation as required. Includes program comments, flow charts, user documentation, and instructions to operations.
- Provides operations with application support, including after-hours support.
- Maintains department standards for programming technique, report standards, documentation and operations procedures.
- Researches and corrects reported "bugs", provides detail information regarding program behavior. Interacts directly with users to resolve minor problems.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a working knowledge of adding validations to fields on a form.
- Must have a working knowledge in creating and consuming web services.
- Must have a working knowledge using OOP (Object Oriented programming).
- Experience creating database-driven web sites using ColdFusion, MS SQL Server
- Being able to code in HTML from scratch is required.
- Experience in programming ASP.NET, PHP, ASP, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML is a plus.
- Ability to learn how to translate design into a functional website.
- Must have excellent PC skills, and be proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Must be a team player and able/willing to write code to conform to company development standards.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in an office. Position responsibilities consist almost exclusively of work using a telephone and a computer.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Five + years of experience working with Macromedia ColdFusion Server, Flash, Studio Dreamweaver and ColdFusion Administrator.
- Five + years of experience working with CSS, XML, JavaScript, SQL and RDBMS. Web services experience is a plus.
- Five + years of experience working with Microsoft SQL database, PLSQL and stored procedures.
- Five + years experience with business-to-consumer (B2C) web sites.
- Four + years experience with Coldfusion development, including ColdFusion 7.0, 8.0, and 9.0
- Three + years in developing Colfusion CFC components.
- Three + years in developing and integrating Coldfusion web services
- Three + years creating object-oriented ColdFusion applications
- Three + years coding, designing and optimizing high-traffic, mission-critical applications
- Three + years working with Microsoft SQL Server 200X as a developer
- Two + years publishing and consuming XML and JSON through web services
- One + year of developing Coldfusion ORM based applications
1+ year of the following advanced Coldfusion features:
- Automated PDF generation
- Scheduled tasks
- Virtual memory file system
- Coldfusion and Microsoft Office application integration
- Directory and File watcher
- Coldfusion - .NET integration
- Multi-threading
- Event gateways
- Charting
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug screen.
