Job Description
Primary Job Function:
The Senior Business Systems Analyst is the primary liaison between IT and the PD Financial Compliance organization. Individual works directly with clients and applies IT and business knowledge and experience to formulate an IT solution for a business problem. Leads department level projects and provides assistance to Program or Project Managers on phases of larger projects. Provides data support directly to the business and other IT organizations. Interacts with upstream and downstream Corporate and Divisional systems to resolve data issues.

Core Job Responsibilities:
Applies and executes standard information systems theories, concepts and techniques to support multiple projects and initiatives. Assists in the development of standards and procedures. Identifies and implements process improvements. Investigates alternative solutions to business/technical issues, and makes recommendations.

Gathers business requirements and translate to technical requirements. Tracks and reports assigned project status. Prepares written reports of work. Independently conceives and develops general approaches to the solution of system and data problems which require application of basic technical principles. Works effectively with teams to determine a solution to a problem. Provides input into testing strategies, performs testing, and conducts training.

Applies analytical thinking skills to diagnose issues, and make recommendations on resolutions.

Utilizes analysis & project management skills to complete tasks that support a project or functional team. Collect and analyze data. Assists clients to understand business problems, to document user and system requirements, to translate the business problems into technical solutions, and to implement those solutions. Works with business and IT management to establish and gain consensus on project goals, objectives and deliverables. Develops and executes upon a work plan in a manner consistent with good project management practices for handling issues, risks and stakeholder communication. Monitors and organizes the efforts of technical and business support staff.

Skills/Experience Requirements
Basic Qualifications:

10+ years overall IT experience required.

Deep understanding of relational databases and query tools (eg, Oracle PL/SQL, Toad).

Outstanding organization, troubleshooting, and written/verbal communication skills are essential.

Knowledge and expertise in managing multiple projects in various SDLC phases with diversified technical platforms.

Experience with all phases of SDLC.

Must be independent, self-starter and customer service oriented.

Proven Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting complex relational database applications with large data volumes.

Experience supporting or implementing data warehouses/operational data stores.

Ad-hoc BI reporting tools (eg, Cognos).

Testing and protocol development.

Education Requirements
Bachelor degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science or a related discipline preferred.
