Description
The IT Project/Program Manager will support all facets of project management and business stakeholder management activities to ensure project success. This will include the following: establishing and maintaining project plan and performance metrics; driving project team towards on-time delivery of project artifacts, coordinating the document management process; documenting status; maintaining the project SharePoint site; maintaining the Project Work Plan for MS Project and Clarity; maintain the project budget; coordinate and track project communications; and facilitate critical processes related to project management and the software development life cycle (SDLC). Also demonstrate necessary understanding of Project Management practices and a good understanding of general business processes in a healthcare environment. Will work under the direction of an IT Portfolio Manager and may also serve as the Project Manager for smaller IT sub-projects.
This project role is a local PM who will interface with the National project team in order to drive local interface development and other MAS IT deliverables. This person will manage multiple projects across multiple lines of business and healthcare domains.
A required skill set is handling the mechanics of project work plan set-up and maintenance using Microsoft Project and Clarity. Project plans are expected to be at the task level with named resources.
Job description:
Providing day-to-day project management throughout project life cycle
Business stakeholder management and issue escalation when necessary
Understand requirements for new systems or modification of existing system
Create and maintain project controls documents including project work plan, charter, etc.
Track project progress including status updates and escalation as appropriate of issues, risks, action items, dependencies, and decisions.
Drive delivery of project deliverables via team meetings, resource management and issue resolution
Requirements:
Must be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with executive presence
Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Project and Sharepoint
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, and Visio.
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent
3+ years of experience in healthcare or managed care
5+ years of experience in project management with emphasis of sole responsibility for project deliverables, project coordination and schedulers do not count towards experience requirement
Must be a self starter and be able to successfully drive project delivery in a highly matrixed environment
