We require a Storage Engineer who is currently holding Secruity Clearance for a large scale project within Canberra. This exciting contract opportunity will require Storage Engineer to support the design, development and maintenance of designs in Deployed, reporting to the Deployed Engineering Manager.

Tasks to be completed by this role include:

Production and review of Storage designs; including High Level and detailed designs Implementation of Storage designs, including prototyping, build and unit testing, support to integration, packaging, test, trials, and live running. Analysis of performance problems connected with Storage. Recommending solutions to enhance functionality, centred on improved redundancy and contingency measures. Identification of solutions to Storage related defects, creating the Installable Component and supporting documentation required to fix the defect.

Duties and responsibilities:

Participates with project teams in the implementation of new/upgraded designs. Works closely with the Deployed Engineering Manager to ensure timely delivery of product. Works closely with the Integration Manager to schedule testing and to ensure tracking and timely reporting Keeps abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends through resources such as internal systems, periodicals and websites Understands and adheres to standards and procedures relating to change management, performance management and security. Looks for ways to improve the Storage implementation MSCE

Essential Skills:

  • 5+ years of general storage experience
  • 3+ years of NetApp specific experience
  • 3+ years of NetApp configuration Scripting Expert level understanding of file systems Practical experience of the design and implementation of Disaster Recovery systems and processes.
  • Exposure to: Experience of producing and reviewing design documentation Experience in producing Installation Guides and providing support to delivery teams
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to write documents in terms that can be understood by non engineers
  • Hold or be capable of security clearance.

Desirable Skills:

Windows Server 2k3 VMWare3 and vSphere 4 Enthusiastic and flexible attitude to work
