Anteo Group has an immediate need for a mid-level Systems Engineer with (3 - 5 years experience) in the Cumberland Mall/Cobb Galleria area of Atlanta, GA. As a Systems Engineer, you will play an integral part in supporting an existing network specifically focused on running an enterprise-level supply access application for a particular branch of the United States Armed Services. This project is scheduled to initially run between 6 - 9 months per the contract and interviews are looking to start ASAP. This contract will likely extend or convert to permanent after the initial contracting period.
The chosen consultant will be expected to work very closely with the current Systems Engineer/DBA on the floor and learn from them the ins and outs of the network. The current resource is playing a dual role on the project and needs assistance in offloading some of the pure systems engineer duties. Ideally, the candidate will come from an environment where they were exposed to different technologies and people.
The main work this consultant will be performing is supporting our customer's network that includes Oracle Solaris 10 and Red Hat 5.8. There is a Windows 2008 server that runs backups, etc as well. In additional to taking care of issues that arise during the course of the day, the engineer will be expected to research problems, determine future needs from a hardware and software perspective, manage the quoting/bidding process from outside vendors and be able to flex in as needed on different opportunities. Because there are certain key members of the team who work remotely, supporting and troubleshooting the VPN is also a critical skill for this role. There will be certain instances where after hours and weekend work is required and the chosen consultant must be comfortable with that flexible work schedule. Because this work is for a branch of the Federal Government, only candidates with US citizenship will be considered for the role. The current application has approximately 20K users and processes nearly one million transactions per day. The application is rolled out across the country but is supported and maintained in our customer's Atlanta office. The chosen candidate will be working with an experienced (senior) team and be expected to learn quickly and glean information from their teammates and apply it.
