Project Accountant - Financial Services - Dorset
My leading Financial Services client are currently hiring for an experience Financial Accountant to join them on their regulatory change programme.
About the Role
This role is initially a project role, with an emphasis on improving existing processes to be Solvency 2 compliant, and producing statutory reporting requirements in an accelerated reporting timeframe. The project element is likely to last for a period of up to 4 months. Thereafter, the role will form part of the finance target operating model, with an emphasis on the maintenance of the finance compliance environment and the provision of quality MI to allow the management of risk, capital and statutory and regulatory reported results.
Knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience:
Essential:
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
- Process analysis and implementation experience
- Advanced Excel skills (VBA experience if possible)
- Creative thinking and problem solving
- Clear communication
Desirable:
- Regulatory and Statutory reporting experience
- Financial Services industry experience
About You
- To put in place, through the re-engineering of processes, statutory and regulatory compliant finance processes which are both efficient and effective in order to reduce the time needed to produce full quarter end/year end processes.
- To identify the requirements of the Solvency 2 finance risk and control environment, conduct gap analysis and ensure that the operation of the finance control environment is documented and subsequently validated.
- To analyse and implement the technical accounting requirements of Solvency 2
- To analyse and document finance processes and controls

Rate: £200-£250
