Compliance Co-ordinator

My client, a high profile media company, is looking for a Compliance Co-ordinator to join their team in Central London.

Overall purpose:
Liaising with Commercial Media Player Team, co-ordinating all compliance needs to make sure that all programmes meet the necessary regulations for the launch of the Commercial Media Player.

The role is solely to work on the Commercial Media Player

Reporting Details:
Reports to Head of Compliance Global Channels

Key responsibilities
To comply last minute additions to the schedule and/or particularly problematic programmes quickly and clearly. To flag up compliance issues with the Commercial Media Player Content Co-Coordinator and offer practical and timely advise on compliance solutions.
To take responsibility for keeping a breast of compliance regulations that the Commercial Media Player operate in, To be a point of contact and advise on regulatory systems in Britain and abroad including OFCOM.
To take responsibility for viewing and approving Commercial Media Players trails and promotions before transmission and offering timely and appropriate advise over related issues.
To take responsibility for keeping informed on sponsorship, advertising and fair-trading issues globally. To be able to advise on sponsorship issues and credits.
To maintain good working relationships with counterparts Worldwide.
To suggest appropriate programme announcements where content demands and supervise the recording of new warning and advisories as required.
To liaise with the head of Compliance in dealing with any serious complaints about content and help in the drafting if lines against enquiry.
To represent Commercial Media Player when required the Editorial Complaints Working party meetings and feedback to the team.

Knowledge and Experience
Knowledge of OFCOM guidelines
Knowledge of various Editorial guidelines
Knowledge of regulatory guidelines for Commercial I Player
Experience in making editorial decisions
Knowledge of the circumstances when an upwards referral is necessary
Experience of working within a broad range of different cultures and an understanding of religious and cultural sensitivities
Expert knowledge of using and maintaining an excel database
Experience of the regulation of commercial activity and advertiser funded programming and programme sponsorship
An awareness of legal issues such as libel, contempt and defamation Knowledge of appropriate editing techniques
