Job Purpose:

The E&P Technical Applications Support Manager will be responsible for managing the portfolio of petro technical applications and for delivering the appropriate level of support to the users in the different technical disciplines. Working closely with counterparts in the technical disciplines the E&P Technical Applications Manager will identify and manage the demand for new solutions and enhancements to existing solutions. Managing delivery projects to implement new solutions will also be part of this role.

The role comprises a minimum one year contract on a 28 days on/28 days off rotation. The successful candidate will be working at our client's premises in Iraq.

Accountabilities:

  • To communicate with all technical disciplines and to gather their business requirements for E&P-specific technical applications
  • To interpret the business requirements into IT requirements and align them with the business and IT strategies
  • To evaluate/update the application strategy for technical applications and contribute to the E&P group IT strategy
  • To manage the set of technical applications and the life-cycles of the individual applications
  • To define the requirements for IT infrastructure services
  • To monitor and improve the application management and user support processes
  • To plan and manage solution delivery projects
  • To classify solutions and providers, define sourcing approach and manage the providers
  • To manage the budget for technical applications and contribute to the annual planning cycle as well the licenses for technical applications

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified
  • Deep expertise in the domain of E&P technical applications - to understand needs of the technical disciplines, to be able to identify options for solutions, to provide knowledge of proven industry practices and to ensure adequate level of support for the users.
