Web Developer, Hiring NOW!

This person will be responsible for making and/or coordinating database changes to meet management requirements. The candidate should also be able to analyze and document business requirements and have the ability to translate business requirements into clearly defined developmental tasks and deliver the solution to production.

This position requires strong communication skills in order to ensure end user requirements are being met.

This position is expected to operate in an independent capacity while maintaining strong communications with management.

Requirements:

  • MS Access skills to include the following experience/skills
    o Creating tables, forms, queries, and reports.
    o Compacting and repairing.
    o Backing up.
    o Understanding replication and synchronization (moot once we migrate).
    o Understanding of security administration via MS Access security workgroup files (.mdw files).
  • ANSI SQL and database knowledge:
    o Understanding of SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE operations.
    o Understanding of reference tables, one-to-many relationships, and many-to-many relationships.
    o Understanding of primary keys and foreign keys.
    o Understanding of unions, intersections, differences, and Cartesian products.
    o Understanding of summation' queries including terms such as GROUP BY, COUNT, SUM, HAVING, etc.
  • Programming skills:
    o Knowledge of VBA.
    o Ability to write VBA code that is associated with form objects (eg writing VBA code that will run when a button is clicked).
    o Ability to construct SQL queries from scratch for the purpose of imbedding in code (as opposed to using the MS Access query wizard).
    o Ability to construct union' queries from scratch using disparate underlying queries.
    o Using VBA to generate automated emails that are sent via MS Outlook.
    o Using VBA to automate mail merges (based on query results) via MS Word.
  • Misc. Access/SQL skills:
    o Ability to write CREATE TABLE or ALTER TABLE statements in SQL to create new tables or change existing tables based on changing business requirements.

Must have:

  • 3 - 5 years related job experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelors degree preferred
