Role Summary:
My client is looking for a fully qualified actuary to support the development, documentation and implementation of the actuarial aspects of Solvency II. You will work as part of a large team of experienced actuaries.
Main Accountabilities:
Support the development of a Solvency II Pillar 1 Standard Formula approach together with documentation to a level that it is accepted by the Regulator.
This includes:
Interpret the relevant parts of the legislation and guidance (Level 1 regulations, Level 2 guidance, industry views);
Collate benchmark data;
Review current & planned modelling capabilities;
Determine the options to be investigated;
Perform the agreed investigations including proportionality assessments;
Draft PowerPoint slides proposing the methodology, including options considered and rationale for methodology choices;
Propose the methodology technical paper structure;
Write the methodology technical paper as per the proposed structure; and
Participate in the Solvency II Technical Committee review meeting where the technical paper is presented for approval.
Support the development of the approach for the actuarial aspects of Solvency II Pillar 2 (including the ORSA) together with documentation to a level that it is accepted by the Regulator.
The same steps as above would apply.
Support the development of production processes for reporting and monitoring the actuarial aspects of Solvency II.
Support the transition of the Standard Formula approach into the business.
Develop Solvency II expertise.
Keep abreast of the emerging Solvency II requirements.
