My client a leading energy trading organisation are recruiting a Financial control analyst that will be accountable for all Infrastructure Production Services for the business, and Development Services for the Application Development teams. In addition, are leading a major transformation programme that is changing and upgrading all aspects of the Infrastructure, and the operating and resource model.

AO&SM manage a budget of c100m Euros, chargeback their costs to the business and the Applications teams, and are subject to a 25% cost reduction target by 2013. This heavyweight remit demands a dedicated financial analyst to maintain control of the financial processes and data, and to produce effective management information

Engage with IT Control on the Annual Planning and Quarterly re-forecasting processes

Engage with key stakeholders to ensure they understand their costs, and any risks and issues

Support the monthly financial cycle and conduct financial analysis and interpretation

Report financial status monthly

Validate Supplier Invoices against Purchase Orders and forecasts, and report on Supplier financial status

Support ad-hoc projects and reporting requests

Support IT performance measurement, including production of cost, and productivity metrics

Support IT performance improvement projects, Support the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Maintain a repository of all Financial data, management information and supporting artefacts

Ideally a Graduate with Accounting or Information Technology accreditation

Business Competencies:

  • Basic Energy Markets and Trading knowledge
  • Working knowledge of corporate accounting practices and processes

Technology Competencies:

  • High Standard of MS Office skills - Expert in Excel
  • Basic SAP skills (CO, PS)

Process & Method Competencies:

Working knowledge of Financial Management processes from budgeting through to cost recharging
Experience of IT project and service governance methods for financial management and reporting
Ability to conduct financial analysis, apply interpretations, calculate correlations and dependencies, and present management information and key messages for Senior Management review Hands on experience of working to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
