Financial Accountant - Planning & Reporting, £300 - £350 per day (12 month contract)
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join the busy Planning & Reporting team of a leading engineering group based in Birmingham.
Financial Accountant - Planning & Reporting
A member of the finance team responsible for various key aspects of the business, including cash management, fixed assets and monthly reconciliations. The role is also heavily involved in all aspects of planning and reporting for the business.
This is a temporary/secondment role for a period of approximately 12 months in order to cover maternity leave.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
This role will report to the Financial Accountant - Reporting & Governance and will include:
*Production and maintaining of financial timetables
*Planning and consolidation of budgets, forecasts and strategic plans
*Loading of budgets into the financial system
*Business Partner for A&S (support) functions
*Preparation and agreement of A&S functional budgets
*Consolidation of monthly accounts and submission internally and externally
*Completion of monthly internal reporting pack and employee briefing pack
*Responsibility for cash balances and cash forecasting
*Fixed asset reconciliations and associated accounting
*Responsibility for balance sheet account reconciliations
Personal Characteristics/Experience
*Professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACA or ACCA)
*Highly computer literate (Access, Cincom, CODA, Cognos would be an advantage)
*Advanced Excel knowledge is essential
*Good communication skills
*Able to work under pressure and within tight deadlines, preferably in a large global business
*Highly flexible and able to work under own initiative
*Previous experience in budgeting and forecasting is essential
*Previous experience of cash management would be an advantage
*Previous experience in a manufacturing environment would be an advantage
