A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a MI/BA Analyst to work within the Operational Performance and Analysis team of a leading and prestigious Investment Bank. The successful individual will be responsible for delivering tactical and strategic Business Intelligence across the group, servicing both the business and senior management. The role is based at their head offices inCanaryWharf.
The Role
The successful individual will be responsible for performing Business Analysis at a regional level, providing tactical and strategic Business Intelligence solutions which will measure and help improve operational performance, increase productivity and reduce exposure.
Product coverage includes execution and settlement volumes, operational balance sheet and non-balance sheet exposure, capacity, headcount, expenses and revenues, analytics and trend analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIS reporting and analysis, covering a range of products, including - operational balance sheets exposure, capacity, headcount, general trend analysis ect.
- Review existing Business Intelligence capabilities and look to enhance process by centralizing reporting leveraging tactical and new strategic solutions
- Assist where necessary to ensure rapid development of the tactical Balance Sheet Exposure Report.
- Facilitate meetings with line managers and subject matter experts to elicit feedback on requirements
- Understand appropriate processes and systems working with the Line and IT to ensure development of data feeds are in line with requirements.
- Develop and execute test plans that will ensure business requirements have been met/create test scripts including specific test cases and expected results
- Utilize standard processes, design and testing tools throughout project development life cycle
Key Skills
Previous Investment Banking experience essential
- Strong Business Analyst/MIS Analyst with experience in Investment Banking Operations, ideally within the Business Intelligence realm
- Exposure to Risk and Control
- Strong reporting and analysis experience, including variance and trend analysis.
- Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio are essential
- Working knowledge of Datawarehouse and B.I. tools desirable
- Knowledge of Fixed Income and equity products
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
