Description

This position will work within a team of SCADA engineers directly responsible for maintaining the Gas SCADA controlling CLIENT's transmission and distribution pipelines.

This includes work closely with the 24 x 7 Gas System Operations group in Gas Control center and with other pipeline operations groups throughout CLIENT's geographically distributed system, work with Control engineers on pipeline automation, work with 24 x 7 Telecommunications Support personnel (TCC/Wire chief), and work with field maintenance group on equipment maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain SCADA and Data Historian displays, database and functions.
  • Review the Functional Checkout (End-to-End point test) procedure provided by other engineering group, and participate in Functional Checkout.
  • Troubleshoot SCADA, Data Historian and other operator utilized programs, and track failure and repair of field equipment,
  • Manage and track the inventory of SCADA related equipment including PLC, RTU, ERX, server, Workstation, communication devices.
  • Verify the integrity of information between SCADA and other associated systems such as GIS, SAP, MAOP/MOP, Setpoint in field devices, hydraulic models, training and simulation tools.

    Requirements
    MINIMUM:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related discipline or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years engineering experience with 3 years in SCADA Engineering

    DESIRED:

  • Team work and communication skills, ability to build agreement
  • Logical approach to analysing problems and developing solutions.
  • Professional Engineering License
  • Knowledge of natural gas facilities and operations
  • Familiarity with intelligent alarming
  • PLC & HMI programming
