Provide vision and direction to the Gas Mapping team, consisting of 15 to 20 union employees, ensuring that work group meets compliance requirements and completes mapping initiatives on time with a high quality product.
  • This position requires approximately 30% travel.

    Responsibilities
  • Safety: Create and foster a Zero In On Safety work environment. Demonstrate by personal action and a 100% commitment to employee and public safety. Ensure that employees are given proper safety training and equipment. Ensure that all safety requirements are met, and that employees are held accountable for safety performance.
  • Leadership: Provide vision and direction to the Mapping team. Be a courageous leader, giving frequent feedback to the organization to improve communication and work products, and to acknowledge success. Set expectations and priorities so employees understand their role in meeting department objectives and have the appropriate training and skills to succeed in their jobs. Lead the organization through changes facing the mapping work groups.
  • Customer Satisfaction/Communication: Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded by the organization. View all processes and potential improvements through the customer's eyes in order to meet our goal of improving customer satisfaction. Remove organizational or process barriers that negatively impact customers. Promotes a flow of information and communication throughout the organization and encourages open expression of ideas and opinions.
  • Operational Excellence/Compliance: Ensure that excellence is the standard by which all work within the organization is evaluated. Ensure that work group meets goals and completes mapping initiatives on time with a high quality product. Keep mapping records timely meeting all compliance requirements.
  • Teamwork/Employee Development: Partner with employees, union representatives, peers, other departments, and agencies to improve the overall business results for CLIENT. Identify and mentor candidates for future leadership positions.

    Requirements

    MINIMUM:
  • 2+ years supervisory experience
  • Organizational, analytical and problem resolution skills
  • Strong communications and leadership skills
  • Experienced in MS Word & Excel
  • College Degree

    DESIRED:
  • Experience working for a utility company
  • Understanding of Union Contracts
  • Skills in SAP or GIS
  • Service Planning/Estimating or Mapping experience
