Description
This project's aim is to ensure that system availability targets are exceeded for assigned systems and projects within the Infrastructure on Demand build.
Working for a large IT consultancy group, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Planning upgrades and other changes to the UNIX/Linux environment
- Actively and pre-emptively determine possible failures and causes
- Be part of the administration team and share knowledge/experiences
- Provide technical assistance to the other members of the System
- Hardware fault detection and correction
- Liasing with customer accounts and vendor liaising
You will have the following experience and technical skills:
- Strong Oracle Enterprise Linux System Administration experience
- Strong RHEL 3/4/5/6 System administration experience
- Strong Solaris 8/9/10 System administration experience
- Strong Scripting skills
- System firmware related skills
- Demonstrated Solaris or Oracle virtualisation
- Strong understanding and awareness of UNIX/Linux system security
Ideally, you will also have demonstrated AIX System Administration experience, Oracle database and clustering exposure and Veritas (filesystem and cluster) experience
