Background:
We are not looking for Developers. We are looking more for the SQL Server Architect role who is also an application specialist. In other words we don't really need a coder, but someone who can pull it all together. The Client generally uses off the shelf applications. What we do is help them integrate these applications.
The Client just moved the entire JD Edwards application from using an Oracle DB Back End to using a SQL Server DB Back End. We provided the guidance and the expertise for them to be able to do that. We helped them design what architecture would be needed and how to do the migration.
Senior SQL Server Architect/Application Integrator
This role is primarily an Architect/Application Integrator role, not SQL Server administration, however it's understood there will certainly be overlap in the skill set.
Expert in working with application developers to implement the application on the correct Servers and SQL Server Database environments.
Expert knowledge in the development of DTS and SSIS packages.
Knowledge of how SQL Server works in a virtual environment - VMWARE
Ability to work in Development, Test, and Production environments and promote code throughout.
Ability to architect SQL Server databases per business requirements including development of tables, stored procedures, views, triggers, indexes, and other SQL Server objects.
Experience with change management policies for SQL databases.
Expert knowledge of SQL Server security implementation.
Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects at the same time.
Ability to analyze performance bottlenecks and provide recommendations on correcting them.
Ability to lead database related projects
Ability to manage global database resources
