Department Description
The department in Leuven focuses on Digital Signal Processing for Audio (speech and music) on Mobile devices. We deliver key software components, like acoustic echo cancellation, multi-microphone noise suppression, 5.1 virtualization, etc.
The engineering team is involved in research, in cooperation with universities; advanced development and product development; and supporting customers and regional teams with the integration of audio products in devices, platforms and frameworks.
Job description
The client is continuously looking for improvements in way of working and quality of deliverables. We call this "Software Excellence" In this context, we are also migrating to an integrated toolsuite for information and code management.
We are looking for an experienced Embedded software developer, that can help in the migration process and in the automation of our design workflow.
This assignment is limited in duration, but potentially can be extended for R&D and Service activities in the speech processing domain.
Key/Essential Areas of Responsibility
Together with the Software Excellence manager, manage and automate the migration of current systems for information and code management, towards one integrated system
Personal skills/competences
- Knowledge of information management tools (eg Atlassian Toolsuite: Subversion, Jira, etc; and Collabnet Tools) Excellent knowledge of Scripting languages (PERL).
- Knowledge of Quality systems and processes like used in CMMi, Agile SCRUM, etc, clear
understanding of Embedded software development
- Fluent in English.
- Creative and accurate working attitude.
- Extravert personally and good communication skills
- Eager to improve way of working
- Able to work independently for different teams.
- Able to drive activities to closure, including proper communication in the organization.
For potential extension of the assignment, following skills are a plus:
- Knowledge/Experience with audio software development, integration and testing
- Understanding of DSP workflows. Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing would be a plus.
- Knowledge of Mobile Operating systems (Android, Windows Mobile, Moblin, etc.)
Experience level
Number of years experience is not important, but in order to have the skills mentioned above, it is expected that candidates have worked in a professional software environment.
