Finance Assistant, 6 - 9 months, £14 - 16 per hour
Volt are recruiting for a Finance Assistant to work for a multinational technology giant based close to Oldham, Manchester.
Key responsibilities
Compile month end stock (raw material, WIP and finished goods) valuations and provisions across multiple SKU and product lines from underlying stock returns.
Prepare and post month end journals for stock
Assist in stock take process (spot checks, re-counts, investigation)
Assist in review and investigation of gross margins in conjunction with finance & operations
Calculation of all aspects of unit costing
Maintain standard cost data base and assist in development/implementation of improved stock valuation procedures
Assist in documentation, review and testing of key finance procedures across all functions
Support site finance with month end, ad hoc duties, business/tax analysis, account reconciliations & reports
Assist in preparing/setting budgets and reporting of variances
Key attributes
Good communication skills - verbal & written, able to explain financial information
Desire to identify, investigate and explain variances arising from stock movements/valuations
Experienced in complex stock valuations across multiple SKUs and product lines
Demonstrable experience of standard costing within manufacturing/processing environment and stock reconciliations
Competent Excel skills, working knowledge of other MS Office products.
Familiarity of month end, budget preparation, account reconciliation & management accounts preparation useful
Familiarity with HMRC reporting (VAT, EC sales list, intra-stats useful)
Qualifications
CIMA/ACCA part qualified or equivalent with demonstrable experience
