Due to an influx of new projects a leading defence organisation is looking to recruit an additional Optical Design Engineer for an initial 2-3month contract with the potential to extend. This client is enjoying a period of continued success and growth and is therefore looking to recruit across the business.
Within this position your responsibilities will include providing design concepts, performance estimating and advising on technical proposals. You'll be utilising skills with VIS/IR optical system design, specification and testing.
Essential Skills:
VIS/IR Optical System Design
Component Specification
A working understanding of optical components (mirrors, lenses, splitters etc).
Desirable Skills:
Lens Design
Military Systems exposure
Zeemax
CAD
Labview or Matlab
