Description
We have an immediate requirement for an Oracle/SQL DBA for a 6 month contract based in Cork
Th successful candidate must:
1) Be from a database background (Oracle on Unix and SQL on Windows)
2) Experience of working in a "small" non-SME environment where he/she would have had to get their hands dirty as a "Jack of all", and would thus have "dabbled" in Unix config, windows config, SAN storage config.
3) Virtualization experience - ideally VMware - be familiar with vCentre and with VMware concepts and have done hands-on work at some stage.
4) Experience with a range of middle-ware desktop-oriented tools and products (eg JVM, IE, Wireshark, Netmon, HTTP Analyzer etc.)
5) Ability to troubleshoot, lead whiteboard sessions, get to the real root cause of issues
6) Someone who is good at process as well as technology (ie good practice approach), be able to put together a short plan (list of tasks, assign owners, chase owners etc)
7) Ability to interact with the customer, head off issues at the pass, and drive customer requirements
