My client a large blue chip organisation based in Gibraltar has a fantastic contract opportunity available for a highly experienced Solaris Systems administrator to join their team to assist with support and some new projects work.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Action Solaris requests that are received through service request system.
  • Check daily the monitoring systems for any alerts and act accordingly to resolve.
  • Escalate any production issues to line management.
  • Work on project related tasks when request by line management.
  • Ensure adherence to operating and security standards.
  • Adherence to change request process.
Essential skills and experience required:

  • Production operational experience in Solaris in a large scale environment.
  • Production storage administration experience in provisioning storage luns in a FCAL environment, ideally EMC.
  • Hardware knowledge and administration on high-end Sun Servers.
  • Operational experience of logical domains and zones.
  • Operation experience of Veritas cluster and storage foundation.
  • Day to day administration of Symantec Netbackup.
  • Working experience of request management system, operational support level 2 or 3 level.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Flexibility in working hours essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
  • Desire to work in a fast moving and dynamic environment.

The client offers some cooperate accommodation so relocation for the duration of the contract will not be difficult.
