Description
An automotive client based in Essex is looking for a Senior Product Development Engineer. This contract will be until the end of December 2012 (with extension thereafter).
Role:
You will be liaising with the design and application engineering functions to achieve coordinated approach to customer requirement.
You need to have the ability to develop technical/product solutions that meet or exceed customer requirement and company's manufacturing specifications and requirements. Also develop technical risk and opportunity analysis for quotations.
You will input into quotations for development costs giving clear deliverables that will be the basis for the technical contract with the customer (including prototype costs, purchased services and design and product validation costs).
You must be able to lead/oversee and coordinate system testing and benchmarking of customer systems. You will drive to maximize use of existing concepts and use company design guidelines
Skills:
* Problem solving experience.
* Experience of component/system engineering in automotive industry.
* Experience in OEM, 1st tier supply base or recognised automotive consultancy.
* IT Literate
* DFMEA, DVP&R, Robustness & Reliability processes.
* G8D or similar concern resolution process.
* CAN experience
* Vehicle systems experience
