Description
Our client a London Market Insurer is looking for a Reinsurance Analyst to assist the Head of Reinsurance with the production of deliverables needed for the Reinsurance Workstream of the Solvency II programme.
These include:
- Development and implementation of Reinsurer Counterparty Management processes to include establishment of a Reinsurer Security database; reinsurer exposure analyses within defined parameters; and documenting the RI Security monitoring process.
- Construct and initiate Reinsurer Asset Management processes; apply Reinsurer details to the RI Asset, liaising with Finance and Actuarial. Document processes.
- Development and implement the Reinsurer Debtor Analysis process. Ensure the delivery of a cash matching facility (Oracle/Access etc) in conjunction with Finance and IT and document processes and procedures around it.
- Specification of Reinsurance Reporting requirements and delivery of an effective reporting suite to enable Reinsurance inputs to Solvency II reporting requirements to be met.
EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Strong technical background in Reinsurance Operations, Reinsurance Processes, Reinsurance Accounting, and Systems
- Experience as a Reinsurance Accountant
- Requirements elicitation techniques, including: interviews, questionnaires, user observation, workshops, and prototyping
- Analysis of both functional and non-functional requirements
- A good technical awareness, preferably from a technical development background
- Strong facilitation and influencing skills - able to work with large groups of customers (of varying level of seniority from user to board level)
- Excellent communication skills - able to communicate with and present to internal teams and customers with technical and non-technical backgrounds
- Able to work both as part of a team or work on own
Desirable
- Any experience in a Head Office Operational/Accounting/Process function is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of General Insurance/Reinsurance business.
