Oracle Database PL/SQL Developer

IT Alliance, an IT Services Provider, are looking to hire an Oracle Database PL/SQL Developer for an initial 12 month contract role with a view to extend based in Dublin. The successful candidate will be responsible for the database design and implementation ensuring that all applications are delivered on time. This is an excellent opportunity to work with the latest technologies.

Role:

Assisting with database design and implementation of applications.
Development and maintenance of package code and stored procedures.
Ensure all applications are delivered on time.
Troubleshooting and resolving database problems.
Determination of any shortcomings of database system and recommending improvements.
Advising developers on best practice and optimal approach in the use of PL/SQL.
Provision of support for data analysis and data-driven decision making.
Completing assigned tasks related to phases of development life cycle of enterprise applications within given scope and timeframe requirements.
Version control of code.
Developing customised reports.
Mentoring and facilitating skills transfer to junior developers.

Requirements:

3+ years Oracle database design & implementation.
Maintaining and building a large scale database in a development environment.
Use of Oracle 10g
Schema management in a multi-development environment.

In-depth knowledge and use of SQL & PL/SQL covering the following: -
o Dynamic SQL - literal & bind variables
o Ref Cursors
o Oracle Built-in Packages
o Application tuning
o Packages, Procedures, Merge, functions, views and triggers,
o Data Definition Language
o Data Control Language
o Transaction Control Language

Oracle Reports
Source control using Microsoft VSS or/and Subversion.
Provision of support for data analysis and data-driven decision making.
Understanding of Java and J2EE.
Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
Self-starter with excellent problem solving skills.
Proven track record in meeting deadlines.
