RF Electronics Test Engineer
3 Month Rolling
The main purpose of this role is to test elements of space or ground based RF systems. In addition to this testing the engineer will also be required to design elements of an RF system for either use in a space, ground or test RF system.
Due to the sensitive nature of this work the successful candidate will be required to be SC cleared.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop test plans and procedures to thoroughly test RF systems.
- Under take the testing of space and ground based RF systems.
- Testing of technical solutions in support of relevant current projects, including ExoMars.
- Support of bids for all relevant opportunities (typically from £50k to £5m+)
- Mentor junior members of the Communications team within the Space UK business.
Essential Education, Qualifications and Training
- Honours degree in a related discipline.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
- Knowledge and application of state-of-art technology in RF communications systems is essential
- Specialist domain knowledge in RF, microwave, antenna, communications and space engineering.
- Knowledge of space platform system architecture.
- Ability to work at all technical levels from systems engineering to component level design, equipment build and test.
- Ability to plan and conduct test campaigns, including specifying and procuring facilities and support equipment.
- Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels, both within and external to customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
