Description

This role is all about taking the current SDLC from an immature state to a best in class structure which the business derives full benefit from. It's about improving what the organisation has and operationalising it across a very large IT estate. The current method of IT project delivery is not working well and what's needed is 'best in class' practitioner of the SDLC method who has significant credentials in this space, but also the gravitas to be able to sell it and embed it across a significant IT enterprise. There's recently been an audit of the SDLC and there's a good amount of remediation work to be done, taking this and transitioning the changes and learns into a BAU context is going to require a combination of policing, facilitating, supporting and technical expertise. This is an SDLC Transformation project on a grand scale.

Key aspects include:

  • Design and build the execution frameworks and measurement tools for the SDLC
  • Drive improvement and simplification so the business can more easily accept change
  • Troubleshoot bottle neck issues in the SDLC - tactical fixes and quick wins
  • Provide a roadmap for the systems and processes needed to support best in class SDLC
  • Design the SDLC Governance 'Authority to Proceed" control points + documentation to support
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma

It requires a track record of success around:

  • Process improvement on SDLC
  • Alignment of SDLC performance to Customer Expectations
  • Measurement - ensuring right tools are in place
  • Applying Lean Six Sigma to deliver improvements in cycle time
  • Aligning SDLC to COBIT and ITIL frameworks

The success metrics include:

  • Ensuring this makes financial savings and gets closer to industry benchmarks
  • Reducing cycle time and clear/simple for customers
  • The ability to prove tangible improvement and deliver internal audits

The right individual will be able to robustly champion SDLC best practice and be robust enough to stop poor behaviour and non-compliance and win hearts and minds. Anyone applying for this MUST have works rights for Australia.
