Description
Chemical Safety Contractor needed for a 6 month role, for a Government client based in Wiltshire.
In the short-term (6 months) there is a pressing need to augment the existing resource with a suitably qualified and experienced Chemical safety expert who will work with extant resource to deliver a number of critical strategic requirements.
These requirements are;
- Progression of the requirements for the Chemistry Centre and HELIOS relocation programme
- To determine the most appropriate standardised approach to Chemical Safety for the client, and the most appropriate future Safety & Training Structure that will ensure the standardised approach remains fit for purpose
- In the longer term, the performance improvements within the chemical safety requirement would be informed by the achievements of this short-term support.
Key Evaluation and Criteria for the role are as follows:
- Degree or equivalent in chemistry (or closely related subject)
- Recognised QCA Level 3 qualification in occupational safety or better
- Experience of working with hazardous substances
- Ability to provide advice on safe systems for working with hazardous substances
- Working knowledge of engineering controls for preventing or controlling exposure to hazardous substances.
