Senior Engineer (Java Developer)
Senior Java developer required for a role in Letterkenny, Ireland, to provide software design & development. You will be working within a highly skilled team of Java developers. This is a data migration project from an existing live database to a new database, therefore relevant experience of data migration in high value systems and of the software life cycle at all stages is essential.
You must be capable of configuring, implementing, and installing complete systems. You will serve as the primary technical resource for a Development Team.
This position would suit a senior Java developer/architect with a strong technical background.
Essential Skills
To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate the following;
- 5+ years software engineering/design experience or equivalent experience in an IT capacity
- Skilled in Java, J2EE, JSP, EJB, JavaScript, Oracle, XML, SQL
- Previous experience in carrying out data migration on high value systems
- Recognized expert in database systems and data migration
- Proven senior Java developer/architect experience, ideally with some leadership experience. Ability to mentor less senior engineers/designers
- Java in UNIX and Windows environments.
- Skills in web Servers, UNIX, WebLogic and Spring
- Ability to communicate effectively to multiple stakeholders, including, but not limited to project Managers, Business Analysts and Technical Architects
