My client a leading FTSE 100 energy company with offices in London is looking to recruit a UI/UX WPF/C# .NET Developer on an initial 6 month contract. The successful candidate must have extensive experience of using WPF to create brand new cutting-edge UI with rich UX and a

Proven track record of creating greenfield WPF-based applications using C# and .NET 4. This position is paying circa £615 per day.

The role

Create a brand new cutting-edge UI with rich UX using WPF. Continuously deliver new UI functionality of high quality (visually and technically) through QA to UAT to PROD. Create new UI components and rich UX features as often as every day. Create major functionality in the greenfield WPF-based application using C# and .NET 4.

Contribute to the full SDLC, including analysis, design, development, testing, and maintenance of the system, business processes, data and interfaces. Act as an owner. Commit most of energy and attention during the working day to the delivery of the product.

Essential Skills

  • Extensive experience of using WPF to create brand new cutting-edge UI with rich UX.
  • Proven track record of creating greenfield WPF-based applications using C# and .NET 4.
  • Exceptional development skills in core .Net, data binding, event handling, commanding (command binding), stream handling, LINQ, dependency injection, PRISM and modularity
  • Deep understanding and experience of using SOAP
  • Good knowledge of relational database (Microsoft SQL Server) with experience of performance tuning, locking issues, writing stored procedures and triggers
  • Solid understanding of MVVM and other derivate application frameworks
  • Experience of using Visual Studio 2010 and Windows 7
  • Experience using continuous build and integration tools (Team City/TFS/Hudson/Jenkins or other).

Desirable Skills

  • Experience using Team Foundation Server, understanding of release management practices
  • Experience with Unity, MEF
  • Experience with Silverlight or ASP.NET
  • Experience using TPL and Reactive Extensions
  • Strong numerical skills ideally with a numerate degree
  • Strong understanding of programming paradigms such as distributed architectures and multi-threaded programme design.
  • Familiarity with Excel including macros.
