DESCRIPTION:
Seeking a Senior Business Analyst/Business Systems Analyst to work on the Total Fund Reporting, Investment Portal application team. The mandate of the team is to deliver risk based dashboards on portal technology to Investment Department Risk Committees that oversee and monitor the Total Fund Risk from many perspectives (Credit Risk, Liquidity Risk, Market Risk, etc).
The Investment Portal application team work within a project environment to deliver new dashboards and on support/enhancement work for existing dashboards.
The Senior Business Analyst roles and responsibilities include:
- Develops requirements plans in conjunction with the Application Manager and Project Manager.
- Engages customers, customer stakeholders and information technology stakeholders to collect and document detailed business and information technology requirements in the form of High Level and Detailed Business Requirements documents, User stories, Functional specification documents and Use Case Documents.
- Analyzes business, information technology and data requirements to outline dashboard solution alternatives considering benefits, risks and costs
- Collaborates with user experience vendor and application team to define new dashboard user interface designs and enhance existing dashboard user interface designs.
- Facilitates communications and collaboration between project team and business stakeholders to obtain approval of the Dashboard Solutions
- Produces Business Requirements Documents, Functional Specification Documents, Use Case Documents and Data Mapping Documents
- Monitors and adapts requirements plans in response to new ideas, changes in business requirements and delivery challenges
- Communicates dashboard requirements to quality assurance team members ensuring that the QA team understand the dashboard solutions being delivered
- Triage and coordinate the resolution of dashboard defects between the QA team and the Application Team.
- Actively collaborates with information technology groups and stakeholders to support the delivery of the dashboard to production within the delivery timelines
Skills (Mandatory):
- List technical and business skills along with minimum years of experience for each
- Must have good communication skills.
- At least 10 years experience as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst
- A minimum of 2 years experience delivering Portal Solutions or Business Intelligence Dashboards.
- Experience working in the Financial Services Industry a must, Experience communicating with stakeholders with operational responsibility as well as with executives
- Understand both the Agile and Waterfall software development life cycle methodologies
- Having used User Experience Design methods and deliverables in the delivery of applications would be an asset
- Experience writing Functional Specification Documents and Use Case Documents
- Candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
