Description
My client has a requirement for an experienced Systems Programmer to work as part of a small team to provide support to internal IT users of Mainframe services to include all aspects of z/OS product life cycle management and hardware configuration.
The successful candidate will be;
- Skilled in aspects of IBM zSeries Hardware and Software, with a particular focus on z/OS Systems Programming
- Able to both work on own initiative and also follow standard procedures
- Service Delivery focussed
- Understands security and compliance aspects of Systems Programming role
- Structured in work practices and production of documentation to required standard
- Effective project management skills.
And have extensive experience in the following;
- Experienced in all aspects of Mainframe systems programming
- Experience in the following in zSeries (IBM Mainframe) environments:
o Hardware:
IBM z196 (or similar)
IBM-compatible Enterprise Disk Storage (eg EMC, HDS, IBM)
Oracle Enterprise Tape (SL8500 and VSM)
HMC
o Software
z/OS
HCD
zVM and zLinux
SMP/E and other software installation/configuration tools
Monitoring software such as OMEGAMON
RACF
Fully conversant with IBM z/OS JCL, REXX, ISPF and similar utilities
Able to use problem determination tools such as IPCS
Experience of Parallel Sysplex configuration and operation
