My client is a large Bristol based bank recruiting for a Senior Investment Accountant
The role responsibilities are as follow:
Provide Backfill support to Data Solutions and Investment Reporting team who are required to support a programme:
1. Produce detailed schedules of investment information for inclusion in the new quarterly and year end Group & Divisional Reporting System. Deal with related queries that arise during the quarterly and year end processes.
2. Produce investment schedules for returns to external bodies such as the Office for National Statistics and the ABI, and provide investment information for other regular reporting processes (usually on a monthly or quarterly basis).
3. Operation of the 3 way reconciliation process, which checks policyholder asset data per the investment accounting systems with the pricing systems and the actuarial liabilities held.
4. Provide subject matter expertise in investment accounting/reporting related matters, including pricing and a limited amount of systems work. Deal with ad hoc queries from the Finance teams relating to investment accounting.
5. Production of the monthly asset and derivatives analysis packs and reconciliation to the corporate general ledger.
6. Identification and agreement of Intercompany balances on a monthly basis through the new Intercompany Consolidation Server.
7. Assist with BAT testing an implementation into BAU new accounting and data solutions processes being implemented under a finance programme.
8. Various ad hoc as required.
Essential Skills/Experience:
Qualified Accountant or Accounting Technician.
- Accounting/reporting within a life insurance environment;
- Specialist knowledge of investments and investment accounting processes
- Experience of completing complex reconciliations.
- Proficient user of IT Tools (excel and other MS Office applications)
- Experience of projects and working in environment of significant change
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Experience of working with Data Solutions (eg Databases, Complex)
