Description
We are currently seeking a DB2 Mainframe - DBA for a long term contract based in Brussels.
The main objective for the role is to strengthen the team for all DB2 DBA related activities and responsibilities.
For this project you will exercise a DB2 Data Base Administrator role involving; Design: as contact point for development teams, translate the logical database model to a physical database model. You will be required to be responsible for the physical database model and maintain the corporate data model on logical and physical level in an uppercase tool (Erwin). Installing the physical DB2 structures: build installation scripts for all the environments, and Tuning: analyse SQL, propose and deploy enhancements. Following up DB2 databases (space allocations, exceptions...): define, build and rollout changes, and support Development teams and Operations.
This will also require assisting or leading DB2-related technical projects, and following up general Mainframe performance and capacity. Delivering second level support in planned operations, you will participate in a standby system outside office hours by turns between colleagues.
Dutch and French language skills required.
Required Education:
- Minimum Bachelor or equivalent through experience
- Technical experience required: (mandatory)
- Recent DBA experience for more than 2 consecutive years
- Technical DB2 expertise in a role of database administration
- Broad Mainframe expertise
- Preferable
- Cobol knowledge
- Rexx knowledge
