Windows Automation engineer - Brussels, Belgium - Windows and Unix

This role resides in the windows infrastructure team and responsible for Automating, building and managing Windows Servers and related management tools in a complex and hybrid environment.

Environment:
Multi forest - multi domain, DMZ, SAN, links with other platforms such as Mainframe, networking elements, covering about 2000 Windows Servers and Unix Servers. This role will give you the opportunity to work with recent technologies that will require you to continuously develop your experience and skills.

Overview of the technical tasks:
- Rollout of physical and virtual windows Servers including OS and Middleware application.
- Support windows rollout issues.
- Manage & Maintain the deployment infrastructures (Blade Logic & ERA).
- Management of Windows server park base information
- Management of Antivirus infrastructure & antivirus updates on windows Servers
- Perform Windows Servers life cycle management related tasks such as the Quality checks and phase out of obsolete Servers.

Technical Skills & experience:
- Experienced in managing and supporting large windows server's environments (Windows 2000, 2003 & 2008).
- Experienced in using a deployment infrastructure (BMC Blade Logic preferably).
- Experienced in using ESX Virtualization tools.
- Knowledge of clustering and load balancing solutions.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP arch.: DNS, WINS, DHCP, IP, TCP/UDP, subnetting, DMZ.
- Knowledge on one or more areas: CIM/CSP, TSM, SAN, MSCS, HLB, terminal services and remote access.
- Basic Scripting knowledge (VBS, PowerShell) is a plus.

Essential Skills:
- Able to learn much on a limited period of time, self study oriented.
- Can easily adapt to new circumstances/technologies/procedures.
- Able to handle administrative tasks (as well as interesting technologies).
- Have a good Communication skills required to cooperate with other team members and people from other teams.
- Is Solution oriented/client focused.
- Have a Good analytical skills/problem solving skills.
- Can distinguish the different levels of decision making related to his responsibilities - and tasks.
- Accurate: focus on quality rather than on speed.

Essential Languages:
French and/or Dutch speaking skills hugely advantageous

Some weekend work required!:
Estimated average of once every 6-8 weeks

Occasionally tasks need to be performed before or after business hours
