Here is an opportunity for a Microsoft Database Administrator to join this large organisation located in Brisbane CBD.
The role requires providing high level technical expertise in the operation, support, maintenance and administration of SQL Server databases in an enterprise production environment to ensure defined service levels are met.
You will be involved with providing support and maintenance to database and applications Servers and software hosted on these Servers ensuring compliance with standards for the management of server infrastructure.
You will also be involved with optimising production databases and database management systems to operate efficiently and effectively.
The candidate needs to have experience with SSIS and SSRS (partitioning, clustering, mirroring).
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a SQL Server DBA (Preferably 3-5 years experience), production/operational SQL Server DBA duties.
- Demonstrated skills in analysis, design and implementation of information technology systems particularly in an applications development and database environment
- Experience performing database replications independently and successfully.
- Experience configuring and setting up date base replications.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting SQL databases (SQL 2005 or later) in a Client Server database environment with a proven track record of delivering quality outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to provide advice and guidance on the deployment of IT systems, particularly in the areas of database design and optimisation, security, recovery and tools usage, especially in an SQL environment.
- Migration experience, namely from version to version within SQL Server.
- Migrate Reporting databases & objects (SSRS)
- Install, Configure & Administer new clustered instances (MSCS)
- Excellent communication skills
