Merge Computer Group is seeking UI/UX resources for a client in Richmond, VA.

User Interface/User Experience Design and Support resources possessing real-world experience in designing presentation layer and user interface (UI) components for new and existing Web applications, based on stated business/functional requirements. This resource will work within the a Group to ensure successful delivery of customer facing Internet applications. The successful candidate will have experience supporting multiple concurrent projects.

Project Overview
The client's Inventory Management and Purchase Management platforms are the foundational layers for all current and future capabilities for customer supply chain workflows. Over time the platforms have become increasingly complex and unable to scale in a manner that would allow them to support larger multi-hospital systems. The initial effort is to optimize the Inventory Management platform to allow for the necessary scalability to meet the large, multi-hospital demand. In addition to optimization for scalability, supplementary features and enhancements will be incorporated into the platform. There is a concurrent initiative to unify various client's technology platforms and create a consistent customer experience.

UI/UX Design
Required Skills:
" Creative and innovative about user centered design and understands how to apply best in class principles and techniques
" 3+ years User Experience and User Interface design experience with internal and external (customer) facing and high volume web applications
" Experience designing user interfaces and virtual workflows for mobile form factors, including smartphones and tablets.
" Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
" Ability to translate interface requirements into workflow diagrams using interactions models and wireframes
" Comfortable with an iterative design process that includes accepting and managing constructive feedback
" Strong visual design skills - ranging from content layout to form elements and textures - including typography, composition, use of color
" Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator included), Axure or equivalent and Microsoft Expressions Blend
" Basic understanding of Front End application development including JQueryUI, HTML5, CSS3 Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, establish and meet reasonable timelines

Responsibilities:
" Working with internal (business) and external (customer) resources, assess current user experience in all client's applications, as assigned.
" Redesign existing user experience where needed/as assigned.
" Design and iterate user experience/application workflows for new and existing applications and features, as needed.
" Develop design concepts, style guides and interaction pattern libraries.
" Use applications including Axure, Photoshop or equivalent, and others to produce page designs, virtual workflows, wireframes, graphic assets, images, and other electronic and physical work product.
" Balance creativity with consistency, development efficiency and site performance
" Attend meetings and meet other work responsibilities relevant to specified initiatives, as determined by the client.
