Finance Manager - Compliance, Audit & Risk - London £60K 9 Month Fixed Term Contract
A successful and global data provider are looking to bring in a finance manager into their compliance, risk and audit practice for a 9month fixed term contract.
Primary Objectives:
The Finance Manager - CAR provides financial and analytical leadership and business sector P&L support, which includes content, technology, and customer support functions. Responsibilities include supporting the development of the full annual operating plan, sales targets, expense planning, forecasting of trends, month-end close activities, and analytical support for operational and strategic initiatives.
Major Areas of Accountability:
- Responsible for the various annual planning and forecasting processes for full profit and loss statement (P&L).
- Prepare and Review monthly financial results and guide analysis necessary to explain variances and trends across segments by product, customers and other dynamics. Presents monthly reports to senior management.
- Provide proactive forecasting of segment revenue and product issues by thoroughly reviewing revenue trends and components
- Prepare annual expense budgeting and forecast process for the segments or operating groups
- Manage capital investments, providing business case support, project evaluation, planning and reporting.
- Create key metrics for measuring business performance and provide headlights.
- Provide financial decision support and business leadership to help the Segment General Manager with metrics and analysis so they can achieve their business goals.
- Provides analytical and business modelling support through active participation in strategic and operational projects that identify and assess proposed actions taken to realize future opportunities.
- Drive investment analysis in the area of new products and support the acquisition/business development effort
Education & Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in finance or accounting required. Graduate degree in management or finance preferred.
- Relevant finance experience, including prior management experience.
- Global experience a plus
- Experience with online content and/or software businesses is a plus.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong experience in financial analysis, accounting, forecasting, and management reporting. Keen eye to details
- Experience in the development and implementation of business-wide finance strategies and programs
- Self starter who can work independently with various functional leaders
- Proven ability to interact and influence executives in a dynamic business environment, including formal presentations.
- Ability to interact with all levels of the management team.
- Strong leadership skills, including coaching/team building.
- Strong project management, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence and work with peers within a highly Matrix environment.
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
