Job Description:
Manage IT projects, initiation through closeout, as assigned and within the parameters of cost, quality, schedule and objectives. Provide leadership for IT project team members and the Project Management process. Position generally used for projects requiring integration of multiple functional organizations. Works independently and mentors other project managers. Responsible for the pursuit of cost reductions and maximizing value on all assigned projects. Responsible for project communications and required negotiations with internal and external organizations. Directly accountable for the management of projects with an aggregate annual cash flow of over $3 million.

Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Technical or Management Discipline with 10 years overall experience of which 6 years have been as a project team member. OR 12 years of directly applicable industry experience, 6 years of which must be in the field of management of projects AND PMP Certification.

1. PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Infrastructure and Operations project team is responsible for all enterprise wide infrastructure projects. We will be focused on several projects that will assist in the migration and consolidation of the Legacy and Constellation technologies. The merger has created several projects referred to as CTA to help consolidate the technologies, Data Centers, etc within the new enterprise. There will also be several initiatives to upgrade, replace or consolidate infrastructure system outside of CTA initiatives list below.

There are 5 Portfolios of Projects with the CTA initiative
1) Unified Communications
a.Exchange 2010 upgrade and enterprise consolidation
b.Lync update
c.Unified Video update
d.Unified Conferencing Update
2) Directory Services
a.AD Upgrade and consolidate forest
b.Single PKI
c.Automated password
d.Single DMZ
e.Single sign-on
3) Citrix/Desktop
a.Win7 Upgrade
b.Thin Client Architecture & Deployment
c.Desktop Management tool selected and implemented
d.Consolidate Citrix platforms
4) Network/Telephony
a.CIP/MPLS standardization
b.Telephone directory
c.Core network design
5) Application Hosting
a.Server consolidation - virtualization environment Servers), Data Center consolidated to the Baltimore Data Center from the large 3 that are currently in place (Chicago, Philly and Baltimore). There is a small one in Houston. They will move to 1 DR approach between all Data Centers. The CTA team is currently running an Infrastructure assessment and more projects will come about from this assessment.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLS NEEDED
The description below provides an overview of Project Manager (within the I&O project team) role and responsibilities and key deliverables, including but not limited to:

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Project Manager deliverables: project plan document; Microsoft project plan; budget; IT estimation tracking form; communication plan; risk management plan; IT project commitment form.
  • Budget management, including monthly reforecast and accruals.
  • Issues tracking and resolution.
  • Scope of project.
  • DR plan for infrastructure if necessary
  • Status reporting weekly, plus executive reporting as indicated by PMO (generally quarterly).
  • Lessons learned document for project.
  • Project file for work, consisting of a completed electronic and hard copy of all completed deliverables and reports at the conclusion of the engagement.
  • Participate and facilitate project update meetings/discussions with project members
  • Understand project dependencies and assist with ensuring the most efficient path is being considered
  • Interact routinely with key internal and external stakeholders including senior management, customers, governmental and regulatory officials

    Skills/Experience - Required:
  • Must have a minimum of 5-8 years of project management & project scheduling experience
  • Must be fluent with MS Office applications, particularly Excel, Word & PowerPoint; Must also be very capable with MS Project and Visio/process mapping too
  • Clearly understands project methodology/development life cycle (design, build, test, deploy)
  • Problem Solver - ability to assess difficult situations, work through issues (ie design issues) and either solve independently or with the help of others
  • Driver - ability to work independently with low to moderate level guidance
  • Facilitation - ability to prepare for and lead discussions where needed
  • Deliverable creation - ability to create and review project deliverables (requirements, business process designs, application designs, etc.)
  • Well Organized - ability to multi-task (preferably with work plan and communication planning skills)
  • Strong experience in meeting planning, coordination and facilitation
  • 4 year college degree
  • Ability to work with remote teams

    Skills/Experience - Preferred
  • Experience with large enterprise systems scale,
  • Experience working with a PMO organization, managing projects within a larger program
  • Experience & knowledge IT infrastructure technology
  • PMP certification

    SKILLS
