Global Payments Operational Control
Day rate £650- £700
London based

To lead the Global Payments Operational Control team which includes a broad range of functional teams that support more than 1600 FTE operating from site in the UK, India and the USA.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Responsible for the Operational Control framework for Global Payments.
* Supports the Head of Global Payments in the development, design and implementation of the strategy for the controls function.
* Leads on the management and reporting of the Global Payments Fraud, IRM, RACA, Principal Risk and Audit related functions supporting the underlying Operational teams.
* Owns the NPA function for Global Payments.
* Own the Operational Control for Payments. Responsibility includes allocation of budget, consultancy support and resource acquisition required to successfully establish a market leading controls function for Payments
* Responsible for the development, delivery and maintenance of an effective control environment including: owning the formulation and oversight of a schedule of risk activities to a level that satisfies Sarbox, Basel and Board Governance Standards requirements, ensuring accurate risk/operational attestations, audit management, and business risk prevention and mitigation initiatives
* Lead deep-dive programmes to investigate core problems and enable on-going improvements in both existing and new processes to establish exemplary controlled processes in the Payments function
* Responsible for the creation, communication and ongoing maintenance of the Global Payments governance and control framework

SKILLS REQUIRED:

* Proven experience in Operational Control transaction services environment.
* Credibility and gravitas to challenge and coach upwards, horizontally as well as own leadership team members and to facilitate the effective working of leadership teams.
* Expertise in financial services operations and information technology relating to payments and risk specifically.
* Proven depth of expertise in strategy execution beyond idea generation.
* Experience of working in a highly regulated industry, ideally financial services.
* Experience of successfully leading change across a multi site Control function.
* Wide ranging understanding of payment products globally.
* Experience of managing multiple, complex and globally located services and suppliers.
* Experience of working successfully in different cultures in a sensitive manner in order to create strong relationships with senior leadership.
* Strong leadership skills of both immediate and virtual team.
* Collaborative and able to share best practice at all levels.
* Highly commercial and understanding the need for Back Office and central functions to be seen to add value.
