We are a software company specializing in the Finance Market, more precisely, in Asset Management. Our expertise of 10 years and more covers Business Analysis, IT, Project Management and Organization. Our ability to intervene is complete and covers the processes and Information Systems in the following domains: Front Office, Middle Office, Calculation and attribution of Performance, Risk Management, Cash Management and Reporting, Security and Third party referential data, Back Office. It also covers the majority of financial products (OPCVM, shares, bonds, derivatives). We are currently looking for an:

Experienced IT/Finance Project Manager to lead and manage projects within the Balanced IT business unit. The role requires a knowledgeable individual to define and agree the IT strategy for Global Balanced Solutions, in conjunction with the investments organisation and Head of IT for Equities, GBS, Compliance and OMS.

This will require the definition, mobilisation and delivery of a programme of activities in line with business priorities, and to ensure continuity of support and timely resolution of operational issues with Global Balanced Solutions systems.

Responsibilities include the management, guidance and development of a multi-disciplinary team to develop, implement and maintain in-house solutions and support a range of complex systems and processes.

All projects and initiatives within the Balanced IT area follow the Agile project methodology.

However, with the support of the central IT architecture and IT Methodology team, the project manager is responsible for ensuring that the project methodologies used and solutions developed are consistent with the firm wide IT architecture and methodology (CMMI 2).

Professional experience

a) 5-10 years IT management experience in an asset management environment.
b) 5-10 years' experience in managing Agile development projects.
c) Has a background in Microsoft development (preferred)

Qualifications (university and professional)

a) Minimum degree level education, ideally a numerate discipline.
b) Scrum master, PMI-ACP (preferred).
c) Prince2 or CMMI background.

Investment Management

a) Detailed understanding of the investment process, including research, analysis, modelling, risk, performance, quant analysis and portfolio construction for the range of investment teams within the Global Balanced Solutions division.
b) In depth knowledge of the specialised requirements, processes and of the following businesses: asset allocation, UCITS, global balanced risk modelling, strategy application and portfolio construction techniques, absolute return products, fiduciary management.

Technology

a) Detailed knowledge Microsoft Visual Team Foundation System 2010. Knowledge of Microsoft C# and techniques, Middleware, database systems and infrastructure required to support a complex set of Front Office applications and services.
b) Planning in Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) 2010.

Programme Management

a) Strong project management experience in a software development and delivery environment.
b) In depth knowledge of Agile project methodology, and align where possible to the client project management method.
c) Manage a programme of IT projects, while delivering to agreed budget, time and quality objectives.
d) Establish a regular Steering Committee with all stakeholders to discuss progress and change requests of the programme.
e) Create realistic, balanced programme and project plans consisting of Release & Iteration planning.
f) Ensure that all potentially concerned parties are aware of the Projects objectives and needs; organize the reviews defined in the Project Life cycle (Functional and Technical reviews) and Project management method (Quality reviews).
g) Track the programme and project progress against the Project baseline by registering actual work and taking corrective actions as necessary.
h) Release management. Organising releases with Central IT departments.
i) Organise & also assist in providing BAU support for the business.
j) Support team members by addressing impediments. Eliminating impediments, & keeping external noise from diverting focus.
k) Enforcing the rules of the agile process.
l) Organise release retrospectives.
m) Central point of contact for communication with Central IT department.
n) Capable of managing multiple high priority issues simultaneously.

People Management

a) Effectively manage a multi-disciplinary team of business analysts, developers and testers.
b) Lead and coach members of the team to assist them in their achievement of their project and professional objectives.
c) Continuously assess and control the performance of the team.
d) Demonstrate multi-cultural capabilities in building effective relationships with, and delivering solutions across the client business network.
e) Experienced in recruitment, interviewing techniques and dealing with multiple recruitment agency providers.

Mobility & Travel: Some international travel may be required, particularly Paris and London.

Language capability: Fluency in English (written and oral) is essential.

Personal characteristics

a) Strong interpersonal skills to be credible with demanding Front Office users - Self-starter with ability to plan and manage own sphere of responsibility and deliver to firm deadlines.
c) Open communicator who is comfortable working with a range of IT and business partners from senior management to project and support teams.
d) Not domineering, command - control individual. Has the courage to allow the team to figure out how to get the assigned work done on time. Essentially allow the team to be self-organising.
e) Willing to help with any problem, whether that fits into the job description or not.
f) Good written & oral communication skills appropriate for many levels of the business.
g) Enthusiastic, committed & reliable - Common sense & ability to work independently.
i) Creative & positive attitude - Be open minded to new ideas on how to improve the process & project.
