Web Application/Server Administrator needed for an initial 1 year contract including probable conversion to be a permanent Full time employee with the SaaS IT Infrastructure unit of a major software company having offices in the Triangle Area of NC. The ideal candidate should have experience in supporting Unix/Linux based JBoss web server applications. Note, this is not a JBoss Developer role, its is a role supporting JBoss based web portal applications. (You are responsible for keeping the web server application up.) A technically savvy and motivated individual with some knowledge and a willingness to learn will be considered.

This is a Tier 2 role requiring technical proficiency, customer facing interaction skills, troubleshooting, and documentation of issues and resolutions.

A combination of some of the below skills together with a willingness to learn the others is required:

• Linux or Unix knowledge required.
• Shell Scripting required
• JBoss support - preferred or willingness to learn
• web server application support preferred or willingness to learn (Tomcat, Apache, LAMP, Java enable web services, WebSphere, IIS, etc.)
• SQL - preferred
• A real go getter attitude is more important than years of experience!

Must be able to start in the Triangle Area of NC immediately or within 2 weeks notice, and pass a criminal background check and drug test. This is a Tier 2 operations role that primarily works days Mon-Fri but also carries a 24x7 pager and is on call at least 1 out of 8 weeks. Some weekend maintenance work is also required.
