Description
Mainframe Developer required for financial services company based in Cork. This is a 23 month contract opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have a detailed knowledge of Retail Banking or Financial Services Systems and will be able to understand and convert complex business requirements into a format that can be implemented on the Unibanks system using the development environment EAE.
Reporting to the IT Delivery Manager, the successful candidate will:
Assist the business analyst in designing solutions that best support the business requirements.
Assist in the production of estimates/business cases
Develop those solutions
Adhere to Bank IT Project Methodology & Standards
Work with a team to ensure quality assurance.
Deliver on multiple projects concurrently and move between technologies
They will have proven programming experience, ideally using EAE (formerly LINC). In the absence of EAE experience Cobol/other 3Gl experience would be considered.
An ability to learn and understand complex business processes
A capability to work on their own initiative in a demanding environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A desire to develop their IT competency through training and education
Strong team work and cross functional collaboration
Excellent planning and organisational skills
